I've had the pleasure of shooting many shows directed by Sam Yates - and this new play at the Hampstead Theatre is the latest. It's written by Ella Road and stars the terrific Jade Anouka. It only runs until 19 May - go see this beautifully-staged, thought-provoking play.
Always great to make contact with a new client - and in February I'll be shooting my first job with the Royal Academy of Music. The Musical Theatre course is showcasing three shows and I'll be taking production/rehearsal shots for each. Sam Yates directs Stephen Sondheim's Company, Lisa Blair directs Howard Goodall's Love Story and Matt Ryan directs Adam Guettel's The Light in the Piazza. I've worked with Sam many times before and also had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, who was was associate director, on the Dawn French show last year.
Big fun to be had at the Trafalgar Theatre where the great Jane Horrocks is about to open in East is East. First production shots are out.
Thrilled to announce my next job with Jamie Lloyd Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group. This follows on from shooting The Pride and Richard III. East is East stars the great Jane Horrocks and she appears opposite the play's author Ayub Khan Din. This will be the first JLP/ATG show where Jamie hands the directing reins over to someone else. Step up Sam Yates. Sam was assistant director to Michael Grandage on Hamlet way back when, and I worked with Sam more recently on his stunning production of The El Train.
Rehearsal shoot in early September.
